Misty Day

"Pretty solid"

submission: Misty Day
date: June 1, 2009

It loops fantastic. I'm surprised its not in a flash submission. Good job on the panning too (I'm using headphones); I always like it when people get creative with it. For example, the vocal work in Metallica's black album, or 'Domination' by Pantera.

The drum samples are a wonderful break from the stereotypical, monotonous 4/4 bass loop every song and it's mother has on NG. I only have one suggestion to make it "perfect", but it's rather difficult to put into words.

Good job, and hopefully I'm not reviewing a demo of a full song you've already got up and you've forgotten about this one. x.x

Tricky's Song

"Epic"

The best song evar from castle crashers, aside from the boppin' bass beat when you see bosses. Now if only somebody used this song in a new tricky flash....

Sounds like a good "panicky" type of song. You have sheet music for this by the way?

zeldjazz

"Jazzy?"

submission: zeldjazz
date: October 11, 2008

Pretty good. The song is a bit too repetitive though. The bass sticks out quite a bit (which I like the most). Reminds me of a final fantasy song or two.

Can't really say much on it. I'd like to see a drum n' bass song with just that though that can loop well. It'd make a really good title screen/memorable place that doesn't have action. Good work.

One of my favorites to disorient friends when a music player is on shuffle. If only only you made more...

Good work, and hopefully I might hear more like it from you in the future.

Fire118 - New Land

"Solid"

submission: Fire118 - New Land
date: August 14, 2008

Sounds pretty good. I loved the bass drum (would be awesome for chugging palm muted open E's, but that's metal), and the the background melodies work really well. But frankly, I think the guitar had no place in it. I suggest replacing it with a more "eastern" instrument, preferably string.

DEFINITELY not an ambient song. I don't know if there's a genre to definite it. I would guess something like "experimental" or something would be it. Or something like Drum N' Bass, but if it came down to it, I'd pick Drum and bass over experimental. Good work though. I'd like to hear more from ya'.

(NUB) Flight of Your Life

"Pretty cool"

date: August 13, 2008

It sounds pretty good at first. then the first guitar part came in, and I was mildly surprised. The guitar panned on the left sounded pretty good, and well, yeah, the counter melodies didn't work out that well sometimes. The opening solo-ish part (I guess it can be a solo? In an 8 bit song? Idk) seemed to sound really good, but it could still use a bit of work. I agree that with some of the other reviewers about the actual 8 bit melody needed to be a brought out a bit more. Or at least tone the guitars down a bit. and raise the bass. I have a soft spot for good bass out of old 8/16 bit games.

Overall, I like it, buuuuuuut I do have a bunch of complaints. That only comes down to me nit picking because of what I'd do in the song though. <.<
Good work.
